This past week has been a little challenging for me.
I’ve been reminded that I have to move a little differently than I did before. Fluctuating energy levels… and everything that comes with being in your 40s… have been in full swing.
So I slowed down, did some reflecting, and decided to get back to the basics.
One thing I struggled with when I first became a mom was not knowing how to separate my duties as a mom from my duties to myself.
I believed that what I wanted didn’t matter anymore.
What I needed didn’t matter anymore.
How I felt had to be put to the side.
Because my focus was on my baby.
And while motherhood has been one of the most beautiful gifts in my life, this was a mindset I had to grow through. Because it didn’t leave room for me. Even now, almost 21 years in, it’s something I still come back to.
Because growth is a constant LEVEL UP 🥰
Learning to date myself changed everything.
That moment when you decide to get to know this version of you?
That’s where the shift happens. I’m still the same woman… just at a new level:
- A little wiser
- A little more aware
- A little more intentional
And in this level up, I realized something important. I deserve the same care I give everyone else. Sometimes that looks like journaling or quiet time. And sometimes… it looks like something as simple as turning my shower into a moment to reset. Letting the water run, surrounding myself with calming scents, and just breathing.
Because self-care doesn’t have to be big. It just has to be intentional.
If you’re ready to reconnect with yourself, start here:
1. Get Clear on Your WHY
Do this for you. Not comparison. Not pressure. Just you.
2. Define Your Next Level
What does she look like? How does she care for herself? What routines support her peace, her energy, her confidence? Start small, but be intentional.
3. Check In With Yourself
Where are you right now? What do you need more of? What’s already working?
Maybe you already have small rituals in place. Like your evening shower, your quiet moments, or your skincare routine. Those count. And they can always be expanded into something more nourishing
4. Build Self-Awareness
Know your triggers, your strengths, your habits. That’s how real change happens. This is what helps you create realistic routines that actually stick. And gives you the power to gently push past your limits.
This week, set aside a little time just for you.
Grab your journal.
Sit in silence.
Or take a few extra minutes in the shower and turn it into a reset.
Let the water run.
Let your thoughts settle.
Maybe bring in calming scents, a favorite soap, or a gentle scrub that helps you slow down and reconnect with your body. Because sometimes the smallest rituals are the ones that bring you back to yourself. Spring is the perfect time to reset.
To refresh your routines.
Reconnect with yourself.
And step into your next level with intention.
So take the time. Reflect. Reset. Realign. Remember, you deserve to feel good too.
