This past week has been a little challenging for me. I’ve been reminded that I have to move a little differently than I did before. Fluctuating energy levels… and everything that comes with being in your 40s… have been in full swing. So I slowed down, did some reflecting, and decided to get back to the basics. One thing I struggled with when I first became a mom was not knowing how to separate my duties as a mom from my duties to myself. I believed that what I wanted didn’t matter anymore.What I needed didn’t matter anymore.How I felt had to be put to the side. Because my focus was on my baby. And while motherhood has been one of the most beautiful gifts in my life, this was a mindset I had to grow through. Because it didn’t leave room for me. Even now, almost 21 years in, it’s something I still come back to. Because growth is a constant LEVEL UP 🥰 Learning to date myself changed everything. That moment when you decide to get to know this version of you?That’s where the shift happens. I’m still the same woman… just at a new level: A little wiser A little more aware A little more intentional And in this level up, I realized something important. I deserve the same care I give everyone else. Sometimes that looks like journaling or quiet time. And sometimes… it looks like something as simple as turning my shower into a moment to reset. Letting the water run, surrounding myself with calming scents, and just breathing. Because self-care doesn’t have to be big. It just has to be intentional.
